And the Snowblog begins...
People always ask me why I do this and the answer is: because I can.
There is no better place to be in the world than Great Slave Lake when the sun is shining, the cold freezes the little hairs in your nose and the walls start rising up. It gives the satisfying feeling of creating something with what's been given to you and hopefully again this year we'll be blessed with lots of snow.

There's also the question of how we do it and my answer is always the same: if you want to build a castle, I'll tell you what it takes. You've got to get a shovel and round up all the flakes!
Throughout the season, I'll do my best to keep you updated on the proceedings. Watch for the return of seasoned builders Old Man Winter and Snowbank Frank. This year we're excited to be able to bring in our first female builder. That's right! Look forward to the debut of Snowprentice. She said she didn't want to be the snowprincess and we (the boys and me) said it was Snow-PRENTICE, not princess so she'll be worked pretty hard.
